dale spender has had many careers - in keeping with the changing times.

She has been - student, teacher, academic (reformed), examiner, author/editor, publisher, researcher, feminist, consultant, director, chairperson, media and forum contributor, public speaker, independent thinker, fund raiser, intellectual property stirrer, and mind-changer -- and all at an international level.

dale is also a founding member of the Second Chance Programme Fund Raising Group (inc) for homeless women.

(and if you are wondering about the absence of capital letters in her name - there is an explanation; capital letters were not standardised until the introduction of the printing press - and they did then help with comprehension - but they aren't really necessary in a digital age, and can actually be a problem with some email addresses and with text messages etc -- and she has decided to do without them - so far, the only difficulty this has caused her has been with changing her signature - she had a lot of explaining to do to banks and other official agencies…)

For reasons of self interest, she is passionately committed to exploring and understanding the new technologies - the new types of work they generate (information -making), the new wealth they generate (Intellectual Property, IP) - and the new education system we need (the new learning) so that we can manage the ongoing, dramatic changes that are now part of our digital lives.
